Ministry report:

Touching the World Crusade

Acayucan, Mexico. July 2005.

What an awesome time in Lord we had in Mexico. We were in Acayucan, Mexico for 6 days. There was many salvations and healings that took place. The people of Mexico were very friendly and were hungry for God. A team of 13 went on the trip with Brian Lake Ministries. I had the privilege of being part of the team. Unfortunately my wife was not able to go with me.

Day 1: We went on a 3 hour trip on a bus with no air condition from Veracruz to Acayucan. That evening Brian Lake ministered at a local church for a pastor's meeting. After his message the team laid hands on the pastor's and members of the congregation. There was also a group of youth at the church who were going to help with the crusade. The youth came up for impartation and were being filled with more of God. We were blessed by the hunger of the church.

Day 2: A door was opened up for us to minister at the local prison. Brian asked me to speak to the inmates. There was an overwhelming peace in the prison. We knew the Holy Spirit was with us. There was over 200 inmates that came out in the prison courtyard to hear me speak. I gave an altar call and 30 inmates came up front to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. The team and I then prayed for the sick and about 12 inmates received a healing. It was awesome to see what God did in the prison in Mexico. Later that evening the team went to the hospital to pray for the sick. In the hospital many were saved and healed through Jesus Christ.

Day 3: Our crusade coordinator Mari Cruz, organized a Children's Fiesta Outreach at the local park. About 500 kids came out to the fiesta. There was a clown ministry that performed for the kids and then shared the gospel message. The team handed out toys and candy to the kids.

Later in the evening we put on an outdoor concert at the park. 2 praise teams performed, there was Jesus is Love from Acayucan and then a praise team of youth from Mexico City. Jack Deshong who is one of the worship leaders at My Fathers House Ministries shared his testimony and sing a song. We had a wonderful time in the park. The people of Acayucan are very happy despite their living conditions. The children always had a smile on their faces. We then took place in a parade and handed out flyers about the crusade. The parade ended at the arena where the crusade was going to be held. Everyone who was a part of the crusade prayed in the arena for salvations, signs and wonders to happen in the crusade.

Day 4: This was the first night of the crusade. Brian Lake shared a vision that God gave him about Mexico. He then preached a gospel message and gave an invitation for salvation. Over 500 people came out for the crusade and over 100 received salvation. Brian and then team prayed for the sick. Brian gave out accurate words of knowledge about those who needed a healing. We were blessed by the power of God.

Day 5: We handed out food to widows and the poor. It was overwhelming to see how some of the people lived. There was some houses that just had a tin roof that were held up by skinny tree trunks and cloth sheets were used as walls. Most of the families only ate beans everyday. We also prayed for the sick and handed out toys and candy to the kids. The widows and their families appreciated what we did for them. They were so friendly and would invite us into their homes.

Later that night was the 2nd night of the crusade. There was close to 1,000 people who came out to the crusade. Brian Lake spoke again on the power of God. When he gave the invitation over 200 people came up for salvation. There was many more people who were healed by God. I saw an army of angels throughout the arena at the same time Mari Cruz saw the angels too. God moved powerfully throughout the crusade.

Day 6: On the last day the team split up to minister at local churches. I ministered at Monte Ararat. Pastor Miguel is the senior pastor. We had the service outside. The youth praise team from Mexico City did worship for me. I had an interpreter and I spoke a message of hope and words of encouragement. My interpreter did not understand English too well, but God moved on the hearts of those who came to church that night. A over 20 people came up for prayer for healing, restoration, strength and more of God. I had a wonderful time at Monte Ararat. Because the service was outside, there was people who did not go to the church who came out for prayer. The church took up an offering for me which through me by surprise because the church did not have a lot of money. I tried to give the money back to them but they did not want me to rob them of a blessing. They were a blessing to me and I was blessed by what God did in Acayucan. My heart goes out to the people of Acayucan. I can't wait to go back.

Next year we have a crusade scheduled for Mexico City. Check our itinerary for any updates. The people of Acayucan were very hospitable. One of the pastors who did not have a lot of money, fed us almost everyday. The pastor and his family took very good care of us.

Kim and I are raising money to provide Bibles, clothes and food for the people of Acayucan. My life was changed going on the mission trip. The pastor at the prison was blessed that God added 30 more to his prison congregation. Before we came there was only 14 inmates who attended the church. The pastor does not have Bibles for any of the inmates because they cost a lot of money in Mexico. So my wife and I are going to be sending the prison Bibles translated in Spanish. There was only 1 inmate who spoke English and Spanish.

Acayucan is not visited by many American's, so the majority of the population only speak Spanish. We had interpreters but it was hard to communicate with the people because we only spoke English. Our church plans on having a class on Spanish so that we can communicate with the people of Mexico better for the next trip. Despite our limitations in communication, God moved on the hearts of the people because of the love of Jesus Christ that we shared with them.

We love Mexico. Our prayer is that the crusade in Acayucan will produce a spark of revival to burn throughout Mexico. They have a hunger for God and many of the pastor's and people had dreams and visions about us coming to Acayucan before we even arrived, so we knew that God had His hand in it. Please stand in agreement with us in prayer for the work that was started in Acayucan will continue and for God to pour out his mercy, grace and prosperity on all of Mexico.
